How to style a tiger rug (and other animal rugs) at home
Ideas for styling a tiger, cheetah or other animal rug in living rooms, bedrooms, studies and children's rooms, without overwhelming the space.

A tiger rug is a piece of art you can walk on. Its outline, its stripes and its expression give a room instant character. The secret to styling one is giving it space to be seen.
Let it lie where it can be seen whole
Shaped rugs lose their magic when furniture covers them. Place a tiger or cheetah rug in open floor: beside a bed, in front of a reading chair, in a hallway or at the foot of a staircase.
Keep the rest of the room calm
- Pair a bold yellow and black rug with natural wood, cream walls and linen.
- Pick up one colour from the rug, such as mustard, in a cushion or a print.
- Avoid other loud patterns on the floor nearby.
Room by room
- Living room: a tiger skin rug in front of a fireplace or coffee table becomes the centre of attention.
- Bedroom: a crouching tiger beside the bed is a joyful first step every morning.
- Children's rooms: a round tiger face rug makes a friendly reading and play spot.
- Study: a cheetah rug under a window seat or along a bookcase adds a little wildness to work.
Try it in your own room
On our animal rugs you can use View in your room to place the rug in a photo of your space, move it and size it, before you decide. See all our animal rugs.
